This weekend is gorgeous, and it's a holiday weekend! What a perfect time to come in and try out our new marinated chicken breasts by Eric's Select Meats in Lincoln, IL. Fresh, marinated, & ready to grill - only $4.50/lb. We've got plenty of brats, burgers & steaks to throw on the grill this holiday weekend, so get outside! We're open Saturday from 9-2pm, and Monday 10am-6pm!
Duck eggs are here!
All this nice weather has the egg-producers kicking into overdrive, and the ducks are laying again. In case you're curious about duck eggs: 1. Duck eggs have twice the nutritional value of a chicken egg and stay fresher longer due to their thicker shell. 2. Duck eggs are richer with more Albumen making cakes and pastries fluffier and richer. 3. Duck eggs have more Omega 3 fatty acids . Omega 3 is thought to improve everything from Brain health to healthy skin 4. Duck eggs are an alkaline producing food - one of the few foods that leave your body more alkaline which is a great benefit to cancer patients as cancer cells do not thrive in an alkaline environment. Fresh Green Sprouts!
Have you been missing fresh greens this winter? Farmer Tessa @ Honey Creek Farm in Cantrall, IL has brought us some of her alfalfa sprouts (great for sandwiches & salads) & Mung Bean Sprouts (great for Asian stir fry.) Come in and pick some up, or call us to reserve them - they won't last long!
