2018 Market Street Dinner!

Celebrate the immense bounty of the Old Capitol Farmers Market with DSI's second annual Friends of the Market Street Dinner, under the fall constellations at community tables placed on the Old State Capitol Plaza. Local chefs from Long Nine Junction, Cooper Streatside Bistro, Tacology 101/Five Flavors and Copper Pot Cooking Studio, all skilled in farm-to-table cuisine, will pair with vendors from the Market to prepare four wonderful courses, paired with The Wine Group wines. Join DSI for a memorable evening in support of the area's most beloved and longstanding Market. Only 200 seats available in advance.

Willow City Farm is excited to be donating the meat for the event!  Stay tuned for the 2018 list of chefs and menu, and check out the 2017 menu to get an idea of what we'll be eating!

SALAD COURSE

Farms: Sugar Grove, Small Axe and Willow City Farm
Roasted Summer Vegetable Salad with Slow Roasted Pork Belly and Crispy Crepe Ribbons
Paired with Benziger Chardonnay

MAIN COURSE
Chef Justin Cooper, Cooper's Streatside
Farms: Willow City Farm and R&R Hydroponics
Grilled pork steak with Rolling Meadows ale bourbon glaze over smashed baby yukons with roasted cherry tomatoes and grilled zucchini
Paired with Imagery Pinot Noir

Vegetarian Option: Roasted Spaghetti Squash with grilled zucchini, roasted tomato sauce and fresh basil.

 

DESSERT COURSE

Farms: Cloyds Apples & Honey and Voss' Pecans
In Memory of Cloyd Hunt: Apple Crisp made with local apples topped with a gluten free topping made with local pecans served with a scoop vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce (gluten free)
Paired with Concannon Cabernet and/or Custom Cup Coffee

Willow City Farm is excited to be partnering with Cooper's Street Side Bistro to provide pork steaks for the main course for this event, AND to partner with Chef Denise Perry to provide slow roasted pork belly for the salad course!
