Goats & Alpacas + Yoga @ Willow City Farm - Mercy Communities Fundraiser
Time & Location
About The Event
It's our first Goats + Yoga where we've teamed up with a local charity, Mercy Communities! A portion of every ticket goes directly to the charity, so grab a friend and come support them!
We've added a youth session this go-around, and we're going to do a little trick-or-treating with the animals, so be sure to come in costume if you wish - the animals will be.
Our 10:30am session is for all ages. (Goats + Yoga is best suited for little ones ages 4+) Adult tickets are $40/per person. An adult + child ticket is $55, and a child only ticket is $25. (Kids 12+ don't need to be accompanied by an adult.) There will be hot cocoa + donuts for the kids, and adult cocktails for those over 21.
The 12pm session is just for the adults where you can come for the yoga and nama-stay for the homemade (right from our own organic apple trees) mulled (and spiked) cider + mimosas!
You do NOT need to be a yogi, flexible like Gumby, or even own a yoga outfit, and we even have yoga mats you can use! This class if for all skill levels, ages 10 - 100!
Goats + Yoga by Willow City Farm is an exciting way to practice yoga while hanging out with some adorable small goats! You'll practice "barnyard poses" like cow, rooster, climbing goat, downward dog, etc, while our furry friends hang out with you, or even walk all over you.
In the case of inclement weather, Goats + Yoga will be held indoors in the gym of St. Joseph's school. Participants will be notified in advance, so be sure to check your email or our facebook page!
About the charity:
MERCY Communities is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing the crisis of family homelessness.
Since 1999 we have served roughly 1,000 clients (moms and their children). MERCY Communities has grown from providing 10 units of housing in 1999 to 26 units in 2016. In fiscal year 2017, MERCY Communities housed and supported 52 mothers with 101 children.
MERCY Communities offers programs and services for homeless, or at-risk women, over the age of eighteen with one or more children. Our services are designed for mothers who are committed to learning the life skills, job skills and parenting skills necessary to live a self-sufficient life. To participate, families must be ready to take steps toward life transformations through structured, value-based, goal-directed activities.
The goal of all programming is to assist homeless young women and their children to achieve stability in their lives by providing them with a stable home and intensive supportive services.
