Willow City Farm breeds, trains, and sells Livestock Guardian Dogs to approved farms.

All our livestock guardians come exposed to goats, sheep, horses, cows, alpacas, poultry (all kinds) and most importantly, other dogs (including family pets (2 Great Danes and a chihuahua), people and children!  Our children are ages 11, 10 and 2, and our working farm is open to the public. Pups come well-socialized from a young age.

All pups will be exposed from birth to chicken and goats full time in their own pasture.  From about 5 weeks and up they can be moved to a pasture with horses, cattle, hogs and alpaca.  We have six total adult livestock guardians training our pups on about 75 acres.

When you place your deposit, we encourage you to let us know about your farm so that we can be sure we expose them to an environment that will be similar to their new farm.

You are welcome to come see them as they grow, and we're also happy to work with your pup specifically with the animals you'll have them work.  For instance, do you have a goat farm?  We'll be sure to raise the in the goats' pasture in barn so they come as ready as they can to your farm!

Our working LGSs can trace 10 generations of working dogs.  We sell them as working dogs, but every once in a while we have a dog that we feel may make a better family pet than a working dog.  When that happens, we will happily place our Great Pyrenees in a family home that makes the best match for pup and family.

  • Health & Genetic Testing
All breeding mothers on our farm have undergone comprehensive genetic testing through Wisdom Panel and are clear of all genetic variants tested, covering over 262 conditions.

For full transparency, new puppy owners are provided complete access to her 27-page Wisdom Panel report, allowing you to review the detailed results and lineage information firsthand.  We believe responsible breeding starts with health, knowledge, and openness.

Just ask, and we'll send you the dam's full Wisdom 27-page profile!

  • Our most recent litter was born on December 10, 2025, and has been raised hands-on in a true working livestock environment. All but one puppy has been placed with repeat farms, and we are now reaching out to our waiting list regarding the remaining male.

The purchase price is $1,000. Once contacted, a $200 deposit is required to reserve the puppy. The remaining $800 balance and pickup must be completed between February 6th and February 20th.

If you prefer the puppy to remain longer with the older guardian dogs to continue bonding and working, he may stay until April 1, 2026, for an additional $50 per week, paid in advance.

We are happy to provide additional photos or videos of him in his working environment. Due to recent extreme cold, the only photos we have were taken indoors during brief periods of exposure to other pets and young children!

Even through extreme temperatures, this pup has remained with the livestock and older guardian dogs 100% of the time, with the only exception being brief periods indoors for intentional exposure to other household pets and young children.  (Don't worry - the whelping area was slightly heated to keep temperatures well above freezing for the pups' first 3-4 weeks.) This balance helps build a confident, well-socialized livestock guardian without compromising bonding or instincts.

The sire is 100% Great Pyrenees, and based on the dam’s genetic testing, this puppy’s expected genetic makeup is approximately:

    • 84% Great Pyrenees

    • 14% Maremma Sheepdog

    • 2% Anatolian Shepherd Dog

The pups will be ready to transition to a new farm by about 8- 12 weeks of age, once foundational bonding and early development milestones are met.  This should be between February 6th - 20th.  If you have an older LGD to help with training, you are welcome to bring the pup home at 8 weeks, but should this be your first, we suggest leaving the pup an additional 2 - 3 weeks.  (Pups can stay up to 16 weeks  (April 1, 2026) for training for an additional fee of $50/week.)

This $200 deposit will reserve your pup, and final payment and pick up arrangements must be made within 48 hours.  (We apologize for this, but we have a LONG waiting list and we don't want someone to miss out!  If you need more time, just call us before you make the deposit and we can try to work something out!)
