Farmer's Markets
Farmer’s Market season is just around the corner! Willow City Farm will be at the IL State Fairgrounds farmer’s market on Thursdays from 4pm – 7pm beginning May 11th. Note… There’s local wine + beer + food trucks at this market! Our new Thursday hours will be 10am – 2pm. We’ll also be at The Old Capitol Farmers Market every Saturday from 8am – 12:30pm. This market begins Saturday, May 20th. We’re usually directly in front of Café Moxo on Adams. The Farmstand’s new Saturday hours will be 1pm – 3pm. As with any small business, when you first open your doors it’s hard to gauge which open hours work best for your customers, your business, and your family. As the market season starts, we will do our best to figure it out and adjust accordingly. Stay tuned! Have a request or suggestion on our hours? Let us know!
Mother’s Day Farm + Chef Takeaway Dinner + Gifts
The best chefs know that to create a true farm-to-table meal, you ask the farmer what’s in season & prepare your meal around what’s available, and not the other way around. Chef Denise is AMAZING at this. So this month we’re doing a special Mother’s Day Farm + Chef Takeaway dinner featuring Lasagna Bolognese (or a spring veggie Lasagna) with a spring vegetable salad, focaccia bread, and a strawberry rhubarb semifreddo. Our charity will be the Sojourn Center. Check out all the details here. Each $30/meal feeds 4 adults. Fresh pickup will be Saturday the 13th from 9am – 2pm & frozen any time after. Shearing Day + Farm Tours
Shearing Day Just a reminder that shearing day is the afternoon of Tuesday, May 9th, & open to the public. Let us know if you want to attend and we’ll send you all the details. Farm Tours Want to know exactly where your meat comes from? We’ll be scheduling our June farm tours soon. There will be two tours – one on a weeknight, and one on a Sunday, so be checking the website or Facebook page to sign up!
